  1. What a potent post. Not a sentence spoken lightly.
Such a reminder to have our eyes on the end -game. Eternal life with no pain, suffering, tears,
grief. Just joy and fun and peace with our Savior and those we love who have joined him before us. Those whose lives we might have felt cheated on because of their early deaths.

Lori, I love your posts. You are such an inspiration.

    1. Thank you, Jan. What a great point about those lives we felt were cheated. Different perspective, for sure. Such a blessing to hear from you.

  2. What a powerful reflection, Lori. I think of the people we’ve been hearing about in our Scripture readings lately, who waited decades or lifetimes in order to receive what was promised to them by God. Many of us give up hope early on, but those who remain faithful to the end will know God’s faithfulness to his promises.

    1. Great point! The waiting is so hard for us to understand even when we see it in the lives of others. Blessings in 2024, Brad!

  3. This is definitely the hardest thing about being a christian. Realising that God has different plans. Knowing that even if you are christian it doesnt exempt you from problems.

Its appointed for man to die ,but i also find encouragement knowing that there will be a resurrection and no more tears.

Because of that i press on

    1. I agree, Atieno! Surrendering my even well-intentioned, prayer-soaked plans to God’s greater purpose is a lifelong challenge. And accepting that life will be hard, even for believers. But heaven on the horizon is a game-changer. Great to hear your thoughts!

  4. Lori,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience with us.
I have a dear friend who is convinced that Jesus will heal every earthly illness (based on the scripture, ‘by his stripes we are healed’).
Although I am 100% convinced that the Lord IS able, I do not believe that it is always HIS will to heal.
I pray that He will strengthen and encourage each of us. May HE receive all the glory and may His kingdom grow as we love, serve and trust Him.

    1. I agree with you, Denise. While ours is a God of healing, it’s not always an earthly, physical healing. If Scripture is any indication, we know that stories of believers don’t always end well when we look at them through the lens of this world. But we do always get His presence. Thank you for your encouraging comment. It has blessed my day.
