A New Beginning

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

As the calendar turns to a new year, our thoughts naturally drift toward fresh starts and transformations. When I contemplate new beginnings, my mind wanders to the fascinating metamorphosis of butterflies. There’s a profound allure in witnessing these graceful creatures undergo a stunning transformation, emerging as breathtaking symbols of beauty and freedom as they take flight.
Much like a caterpillar navigating life’s path at a slow pace, I found myself yearning for something greater, a sense that the Lord had a different purpose for me beyond the mundane. For 24 years, I treaded the corridors of the corporate world, yet within, a void lingered, a feeling of unfulfilled destiny.
SOMETHING NEW
It was precisely two years ago this month when I made a pivotal choice: I shut the door on my established career as a dietitian. Embracing an uncertain future, I took a leap of faith, guided solely by my conviction that the Lord was calling me to something new, even though it meant venturing into the unknown without a clear plan. This was quite a daunting and stomach-churning leap, yet one I knew deep within was the path the Lord intended for me.
In the first year following my departure from the corporate world, it felt like I was in my cocoon phase—a time of growth and exploration, a period dedicated to acquiring so many new skills and embracing a fresh perspective on life intertwined with daily and usually hourly guidance from the Lord.
STRONGER WINGS
As the second year unfolded, I sensed the gradual stretching of my wings. The year 2023 marked the launch of two books along with the inception and launch of a podcast—a testament to my increasing, never-ending change into new creative territories. While I’m still in the process of extending and strengthening my wings, I now sense a profound shift within, something like metamorphosing into a butterfly. With each slow and unsteady flutter, I soar to greater heights with the Lord’s purpose for my life. I am embracing this new life brimming with purpose and boundless opportunities.

Just like the stages of a butterfly’s growth, I encounter days that have their share of challenges, the struggle of emerging from a cocoon. In those moments of comparison and perceived slow progress, I find myself questioning my growth and my decision to leave a secure position. However, amidst these hurdles, I recognize that my journey, much like the butterfly’s transformation, is both enjoyable and fulfilling. The awe and wonder of embracing the path the Lord intended for me brings an indescribable joy, much like the pleasure of a butterfly gracefully fluttering its wings in flight.
A SPECIAL BEAUTY
Several months after I left my corporate role, I heard the Lord drop the following in my spirit. I pray sharing this message encourages you today to take a leap of faith that the Lord is calling you to.
“My child, I have changed you into this butterfly. I have colored your wings to be unique and exquisite and perfect just for you. Did you know, My child, that although you look like a delicate creature, I have made you to stand out. I have made you to impact the world greatly around you. The beauty you carry is special. You are a reflection of Me. When you fly with Me others take notice, when you fly with Me others want to follow you. Fly high with Me today, My child.”
Be encouraged today, spread your wings, and stand out for Jesus wherever you go. Remember the Holy Spirit is with you always. Draw strength from His nearness which can embolden you to carry His sweet words to a dark and hurting world. The world longs for the hope you carry, they long for the peace and joy you have inside you. I encourage you to share why you have peace that passes understanding with one person today. Share with them that they too are uniquely made by God and that He loves them so much.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your love and care for me. Thank You that You have made me uniquely special to stand out for You. Please give me grace and courage to be bold for You today. Please put in my path those that need to know You, the Creator of the universe. In Jesus name, Amen.
